Tan Sri Bashir joined the aviation in 1972 as a Management Trainee in Malaysia Airlines. He served Malaysia Airlines for 29 years, working in many areas of the airline such as in marketing, planning and operations. His last postion was Executive Vice-President Airline Operations. He then served the Malaysian Government as Aviation Advisor for two years before joining Malaysia Airports as CEO. He was CEO for 11 years and then was appointed Advisor to the Board for a period of three years. Tan Sri Bashir has the distinction of serving all three areas of the industry of airlines, airports and government regulatory affairs. Tan Sri Bashir is now involved in providing advisory services to aviation related companies.
